Pronouns and Names Tester

Input all names you want to test / your names:

If buttons don't work, try accesing the page from different browser or enable JavaScript in the browser settings.

Input all pronoun sets you want to test / your pronoun sets:

Set 1:

Subject pronoun:
Object pronoun:
Possesive determiner:
Possesive pronoun:
Reflexive pronoun:

Tip: if you add the same name or set multiple times, it will appear in test results more often.

Pressing 'clear' on additional, already empty inputs will remove them from the page.

All changes that you make will be saved directly in your browser. It means they aren't sent to any server, we don't have any access to them, but also you won't be able to acces them through other browser or from different device. Make sure you don't use private mode, because it will clear your data after you close the page (at least on all browsers we tested with). Your changes will also be lost when you delete cookies, so if you have to do that, copy data and save it somewhere else beforehand (we've heard that Safari may from time to time automatically delete all cookies, so be careful when using that browser).

If you're wondering why some symbols won't appear in inputs no matter how many times you click them, that's because we use them for coding informations and you could accidentaly break the page if we let you use them.

Choose the speed of displaying sentences during testing:

Group

Now you can store your data in separated groups. We made this option with plural and otherkin folks in mind, but it can be useful for everybody else too: for example when you want to separate pronoun sets and names that you are still testing from the ones that give you gender euphoria. Data from currently chosen group will be used for randomising names and sets and creating test results. If you want Tester to randomly choose from all names and/or pronoun sets from the group, leave all corresponding input fields empty before testing. Currently autofill for more complex pronouns, like she/her, they/them and fae/faer, also depends on the data from the group, so if specific ones are not present there, you'll get results like she/shes, they/theys or fae/faes when autofilling.

Testing sentences

Write new testing sentences about yourself, but as you were named Jake and used xe/xem/xyr/xyrs/xemself pronouns. Every name, pronoun and verbs 'has', 'is' and 'was' coming directly after your pronouns (not name) write all in capital letters. Endings 's', 'es' or 'ies' of verbs related to your pronouns also write in capital letters and put after them symbol '#' without a space before it. The same symbol put before words in capital letters, if they are on the begining of the sentence (unless you don't want them to start with a capital letter). To make tests feel less artifical always make sentences on names list a form of introduction and avoid giving similiar informations in sentences on different lists. For higher integrity of generated passages you can add multiple sentences at once (we advise to keep their number under four, so they won't overflow the container). Before submitting make sure you haven't done any mistakes, as you won't be able to directly edit the text once it's added.

Here's an example:

#JAKE works with us too. #XE doES#n't have time to meet you right now, XE IS talking with our boss. #XE trIES# to convince her to give us more achievable deadlines for our projects and she seems to slowly give in. #XE really makeS# world a better place.

And here you will see, how your sentences will look like for Ash, who uses they/them pronouns:

Choose a list you want to add your sentence(s) to:

Your text doesn't actually need to contain the part of speech that is on the name of the list, we don't check that. The purpose of these lists is to make sure that you will get all forms of your pronoun set(s) with every test, but if you don't mind not seeing a sentence with possesive pronoun every time and you'd rather put on its list something easier to come up with, you can totally do it.

If you deleted something on accident, click here (ctrl + z on QWERTY keyboard or ctrl + y on QWERTZ work as well):

If you want to move your data to a different device or browser, click 'copy data' button. It will copy to your clipboard encoded information about all your saved names, pronouns and testing sentences. On mobile your clipboard may have too small capacity, so if button seems to not work or code you have in clipboard doesn't end with words 'code is complete', click 'render code' button. It will allow you to copy code manually in smaller parts.

If you already have code copied from the other browser/device, paste it below. But have in mind, that replacing data will overwrite all changes that you've made here. And don't paste here anything which wasn't supposed to be here, including the code from the old version, since we slightly changed data encoding to encorporate new features.

This button will restart the page to its initial settings. This means that all your custom names, pronouns and testing sentences will be lost and this action is irreversible. Developers have no idea why would you want to do that and even why they've made this an option (okay, that was a lie, we needed it for testing purposes). We advise you to use it only when your changes broke the page. We'll ask you for confirmation when you click it.

If you like our Tester, please consider filling out a short feedback form to let us know about it! We deeply appreciate every response, it helps us better understand how you use our app and makes us motivated to not abandon this project and find some free time to improve it according to your needs.

For the offline version of the page right-click anywhere on the background and choose 'save as' option on your computer or find download button in the browser menu on your mobile. If you already have one version saved on this device, delete it before downloading a new one in order to avoid potential problems with the stored data.

We are extremely grateful for every link to the tester shared on social media, but please, credit us when you respond to folks name and pronoun testing requests with default passages generated through this site. We've put a lot of work to construct sentences that will sound natural in different combinations and seeing somebody respond with them like they come up with them themselves doesn't feel fair.
